This page comes from a copy of the Quran, the holy book of Islam containing the words of God as transmitted to the prophet Muhammad during the first half of the seventh century. The main body of the text, three lines of Arabic writing, is composed in an elegant cursive script. Underneath, Persian translations were later added, and at yet another point in time the writing in a red, angular script.
