19th century ukiyo-e Painter, Printmaker
Japanese, (1797–1858) Tokutaro, Jubei, Juemon, Tokubei, Ichiryusai. Ichiyusai, Ryusai, Tokaido Utashige
Pupil of Utagawa Toyohiro. Studied under Ooka Umpo for nanga painting. Gave up figure prints for landscapes and kochoga; subject matter provided by many trips throughout Japan.

Son of an official of the Edo Castle fire department.
