Life and Legacy 2019:

Los Alamos, New Mexico, was the site of the Manhattan Project (1939–1946), which was responsible for the development of the atomic bomb. This peaceful scene of children playing is in contrast with the violence most viewers associate with the massively destructive weapon, granting humanizing context to the controversial town.
