This print depicts an actor in the roll of the footman Sukebei from the Kabuki play Journeying through Iga Province along a Picture Map Game (Igagoe dochu sugoroku). He was traveling from Akasaka when he came to a barrier in the road. The daughter of the barrier keeper showed Sukebei a telescope for the first time, and he became obsessed with peering through it to see distant sights. In this print, the artist shows him recoiling at having espied his favorite prostitute making love with another man.
