"Description
A unique Nguni ceremonial spear because it is the only one of its kind to have both the original female figure finial and the original long shaft and metal blade; the figure with legs truncated into a circular base; absence of the feet; distinct and muscular claves; rounded, prominent buttocks; broad, cylindrical torso with spine indicated; small incised v-shaped breasts indicated; asymmetrical, broad, rounded shoulders; exaggerated short arms held close to the body with hands asymmetrical resting on the abdomen; incised and sculptural gingers, held together; broad, cylindrical neck; ovoidal-shaped head; wearing the characteristics raised cap-like coiffure for the genre; crescent ears protruding outward and framed by the coiffure small, closely, spaced features to the middle of the facial plane; incised, flat, triangular nose, framed by the oval-shaped eyes inset with tiny beads; slightly opened, raised mouth with defined broad lips; shinny; smooth, red-brown patina."
