Two-level stacked chests are among the most recognizable examples of Korean domestic art. This example would have been part of a dowry and used to hold woman’s clothing. The inlay includes visual symbols and poetry that evoke Confucian ideals of integrity, perseverance, and blessings for health and happiness.
