The Qutb Minar, at 239 1/2 feet, was built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak as p
art of the large Qutub complex, which once housed Jain and Hindu temples. The site demonstrates the dominance of Islam in Asia during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
