Temple, Palace, Mosque, July 2011

This photograph reveals the extraordinary decorative sensibilities of the kings of Amber. Many of the interior architectural elements seen in this photograph have their counterparts in the paintings, such as the niches with vessels, and floral dadoes on the lower walls. Mirrors were inset into the walls to provide a lively surface, especially at night when the room glowed in candlelight.
