The album contains a collection of poetry and calligraphy drawn from classical Persian sources, including excerpts from the thirteenth-century Gulistan (“Rose Garden”) of Sadi, who is one of the most celebrated Persian poets. Each page has been written in a different calligraphic style on paper pages. These pages were later placed into brightly colored card borders and assembled into an album.
