Originally, all of the items here were used in homes on a daily basis, but examples of Persian pottery and metalwork are collected in museums as fine art, because of the refined techniques and skillful craftsmanship that went into making them. The objects on view are also evidence of a vigorous international trade in wares that moved between Iran, China, and Egypt.
